Osteoarticular grafts (OATS)

Osteoarticular grafts (OATS) surgical technique involving the transplantation of an articular (joint) cartilage and bone plug into a localized area of arthritis.

This procedure can be performed in multiple areas of cartilage injury and can be done arthroscopically or through a small open incision. Progressive physical therapy is needed to restore motion and strength I the knee once an adequate period of time for cartilage and bone growth has passed.
