Dr. Dean Chen is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine, total joint replacements, adult and pediatric trauma, hand surgery, and foot and ankle surgery. His approach to patient care involves a treatment plan tailored toward each individual patient's goals. Sometimes, conservative measures such as physical therapy and other medical managements are enough to alleviate pain. However when patients require surgical solutions, Dr. Chen puts years of experience to work to deliver exceptional results that can help patients reclaim their active lifestyles.

Dr. Chen received his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Los Angeles, and holds a medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. He performed his residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Chen is currently licensed by the states of Texas and Michigan and is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He has lived and practiced in the Austin area since 1999. Additionally, Dr. Chen is a member of the Travis County Medical Society, Texas Orthopaedic Association, Austin Orthopaedic Trauma Association, and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
